Frequently asked questions
Why did my MP4 export become a WebM file?
Your browser decides the container. We ask for MP4 (H.264) first via MediaRecorder.isTypeSupported — Chrome 126+ on desktop supports it. Safari, Firefox and older Chromium builds can only mux WebM (VP9/VP8), so the file saves as .webm instead.
What resolution and ratio do the exports use?
The preview canvas is 1080×1920 (9:16 vertical), exactly the TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels format. Video exports keep full 1080×1920. GIFs are rendered at 540×960.
Does my photo or video leave my device?
No. The whole generator runs locally in your browser: your files never touch a server. That is also why this page works offline after it has loaded, with no sign-up and unlimited free exports.
Can I loop my uploaded video?
Yes — by default uploaded videos loop inside the template. Use the Freeze-first-frame toggle to hold on the opening frame instead, which works great with the Fog Reveal and Haunted Intro templates.
